Hi, I'm Nina Martin.
I grew up around finance and real estate; watching my mum build her mortgage broking business, learning how deals worked before I even knew what a career was supposed to look like. It felt natural. It felt like home.
Then I took a different path. I studied pharmacy, registered as a pharmacist, and worked across New Zealand and Australia in settings that genuinely pushed me. I learned how to hold space for people on some of their hardest days, earn their trust quickly, and carry the weight of decisions that really matter.
I'm proud of that chapter. The precision it demanded. The ethical weight of it. The way it completely rewired how I listen, how I communicate, and how seriously I take being someone others rely on.
But the pull back to finance never left. Watching a property deal come together, seeing a client walk away with something that would change their family's future - that feeling stayed with me. So eventually, I stopped fighting it.
Two careers that look nothing alike on paper. But the through line is clear: people trusting you with something that really matters. Their health. Their wealth. Their home. Their future. The skill set changes. The stakes feel the same.
Everything I learned in pharmacy, the attention to detail, the compliance mindset, the way you have to earn trust before someone will really open up - I use every single day in this work.
Whether you're buying your first home, investing through property, refinancing or even buying a new car - I bring 10 years of finance experience and a genuine commitment to getting you the right outcome.
Every detour brought me to this exact point. A meridian is a guiding line, a reference point for finding your way.
That's what NM Meridian is here to be: a guide who's walked a few unexpected roads, and knows how to help you navigate yours. Built on my mum's legacy and everything she taught me.
What I Stand For
The principles that guide every conversation, every recommendation, and every deal I put together.
-
Finance is confusing enough without the industry throwing acronyms and fine print at you. I explain everything in plain English, so you always understand exactly what you're agreeing to, what it costs, and what happens next.
-
I'm legally required to act in your best interests, and I take that seriously. That means comparing the market properly and recommending what genuinely suits your situation, even if it's not the option that's quickest or easiest for me to process.
-
You'll always know how I'm paid, what commissions apply, and where any potential conflicts of interest sit. No hidden arrangements, no fine print you have to go digging for.
-
It's not enough to just tell you which loan to pick. I walk you through the reasoning behind every recommendation, so you understand the trade-offs and can make an informed decision, not just a trusting one.
-
Settlement isn't the finish line for me. I stay in touch, review your loan over time, and help you make the most of your lending as your circumstances change, rather than disappearing the moment the paperwork's done.
-
Every recommendation I make is one I'd be comfortable making for myself. I'm careful, considered, and genuinely invested in getting the outcome right, not just getting the deal done.
-
Buying property doesn't stick to business hours, so neither do I. I reply quickly and work around your schedule, including evenings and weekends, so you're never left waiting on an answer when it matters.
